REACH FOR THE SKY (First images for project)

Before the rain moved up to Wooyong Beach we ran on the sand with the Nikon D70 and an umbrella on hand the sky gave some drama to the image and sky. Which worked well. I understood now how photographers often work on the moment waiting for the right time to take the shot, ready and on guard. I think more of this setting would be great only the rain hit after about ten minutes. Managing to get a least four decent shots. A little bit of photoshop was used with the levels and bright/contrast but my goal was to take a great photo rather than doing lots of editing.

Project images

What if our eyes could capture a moment in time? Take a blink and freeze, a memory.  I love the imagery of the body or figure captured in space, airborne.  I have been looking at Rosemary Laing, Aaron Siskind, and Denis Dazacq for their conceptual photos of this composition. I wanted to take a shot at the right moment and be slightly designed but also unaware of the final image I liked the sponetanity of the action. Like the weather playing a huge part in my process, the wind  and the rain and also the availablity the camera.  I have had very little play with the nikon and or other camera using the aperture and shutter tools. I have learnt a lot with the manual settings, adjusting the exposure to zero and experimenting with light.

I wanted to keep my images simple and looked at the subject as representation of the beauty of the line of the flexible body, frozen in moment and in time.
